One sentence in your Will can impact
on the future of our Church in Southern Africa
Leaving a legacy to an educational institution is a popular
tradition among people of vision, and may be something you
would find worth considering.
It's a way of making a considerable
financial contribution to a cause you feel strongly about,
without worrying about immediate out-of-pocket costs. You
retain full use of your money or property during your lifetime;
only after you no longer need it, does your money become
available to help support your wishes and hopes for the future.
Since a charitable bequest can take many forms, you have
considerable flexibility. You can leave a specific asset
or sum of money, a percentage of your estate, or what remains
of your estate after you have provided for other beneficiaries.
You can designate exactly how you want your bequest to be
used … or leave it unrestricted so that
we can decide how best to put it to use to meet our ever-changing
needs. Leaving a bequest to an institution such as the College
of the Transfiguration can also help reduce estate duty payable
on your death.
If you wish to make a bequest to the College of the Transfiguration
– or have already done so – it’s important
to let us know for several reasons. First, we appreciate
the opportunity to thank you for your generosity.
But we'd also like to help you plan how the bequest will
be used, so that you get the most satisfaction out of it.
If you already have a will and would like to add a bequest
to the College of the Transfiguration, this may be done by
means of a simple codicil (click
here to download the necessary form). If you have yet
to write your Will, you are advised to consult your attorney,
bank manager or accountant who will ensure the Will is correctly
worded and legally witnessed.
