Heloise Dixie – Lecturer
Heloise Dixie joined the College as a lecturer
in January 2010, coming to Grahamstown from the small
town of Clarens where she was self-employed as a graphic
designer.
Heloise graduated from Wits University with a Masters
in Philosophy of Religion, and was for a time supervised
by Bill Domeris, with whom she and other students had
the opportunity to take part in an archaeological tour
to Ceasarea, Israel. After completing her studies, Heloise
moved to the United States with her then husband and
it was here that her two children Julia and Luke were
born.
Having now returned to her deep interest in religious
studies and global ideologies, Heloise is enjoying the
interaction with her students and colleagues as she extends
her skills as teacher, lecturer and facilitator. |

Isaias Chachine – Ethics
Lecturer
Isaias was
ordained a deacon in the Diocese of Lebombo, Mozambique,
in 1996 and priested in 1997, after which he served
a parish in Maputo for several years. He came to the
College in 2001 as a strategic appointment to ensure
that the countries of the ACSA are represented at all
levels of the province and to assist Portuguese
speaking students registered with the College.
Isaias enjoys the diversity of the College, its openness
to non-Anglicans and the way in which it offers ministerial
formation beyond national and provincial boundaries.
He teaches Ethics, Mission, Pastoral Care and Christian
Responses to HIV/AIDS, and his qualifications include
a BTh (Hons) (University of Natal) and a MTh (University
of Uppsala). |

Jonathan May – Biblical Studies
Lecturer
Jonathan grew up in the Scottish Baptist Church and
originally came to the College on a
one-year sponsorship from the Episcopal Church of Scotland.
However, he enjoyed the challenge of working in such
an engaging context so much that he decided to join
the staff full time when the opportunity presented
itself, and he has now been with us for four years.
Jonathan teaches Interpretation (Biblical & Early Church
text), NT Greek and the Life of Jesus. His qualifications
include a BD (Hons), PhD Theology and Religious Studies
(University of Glasgow). |

Percy Chinganga – Lecturer
Percy was ordained a deacon in the Diocese of
Manicaland, Zimbabwe in 2004, became a priest in February
2006 and joined the College the following year. His own
experience as a student here was empowering and he feels
that working in this environment – where one is exposed
to the many ways through which people manifest their reverence
and worship to God – is more than a privilege.
Percy currently teaches Christian Education as well
as Leadership and Management. His qualifications include
MA, BA General, GradCE (University of Zimbabwe) and a
Diploma in Ministry (College of the Transfiguration). |

 |
Vic Graham – Lecturer
Vic was ordained in the Baptist Church in 1980.
Before he came to us he served as minister in Johannesburg,
and lectured at the Rosebank Bible College and the Baptist
Theological College of Southern Africa.
Vic and his family moved to the Anglican Church and
joined the College staff last year. He lectures in Pastoral
Theology, with some lecturing in Biblical Studies.
His postgraduate studies include a Masters of Theology
from
Dallas Theological Seminary and a MA (Counselling and
Spirituality) in Denver, Colorado. |

Phakama Mpotulo – Librarian
Phakama has been working in the library since
2001. She enjoys the work because nearly every day brings
a new enquiry from a student that leads her to learn
something new.
Phakama belongs to the Roman Catholic Church and has
a Matric and a Certificate in Secretarial Studies. |
|
 |
Thembisa Mjoli – Office
Administrator
Thembisa joined the staff in 2005 and enjoys
the challenge of multi-tasking and dealing with student

a Certificate in Accounting and Computing (East London
Technical College). |

Jeanne Kamfer: Office Administrator
Originally from Grahamstown, Jeanne joined
the College at the end of 2009 as an Office Administrator,
having previously worked as a Dental Assistant. Everyday
in her new position at the College brings with it new
challenges and Jeanne is enjoying working with the students,
each one of whom is different and special in their own
way.
Jeanne is a Roman Catholic and belongs to one of the
local parishes in town. In her spare time she likes to
cook and looks after her husband and ten year old daughter.

Angus
McRae: Maintenance Manager
Having been born in Johannesburg and spent
30 odd years studying and working there, Angus McRae
found it a a pleasure to eventually leave and live and
work in different parts of the country.
After a three year contract in East London, he spent
the past five years in construction work near a small
town in Eastern Cape called Barkly East. This farming
district in the Drakensberg is very close to the Tiffendell
ski resort and Angus became an avid fly fisherman.
With pristine trout and yellow fish rivers in abundance,
untouched and rarely fished, this hobby has become
a passion.
After being approached by Bill Domeris, a long-time
family friend, Angus joined the collage staff, where
he hopes to get a number of the major maintenance and
building projects completed. |

Fungayi Nyandoro: College
Chaplain
Another new face at the college is Friar Fungayi
Nyandoro, a member of the Community of the Holy Transfiguration
in Zimbabwe, who took up the position of College Chaplain
in January 2010.
Fungayi first came to the College of the Transfiguration
after discerning a call to the priesthood in 2001.
After graduating from COTT, he was ordained and ministered
in his home nation of Zimbabwe before returning to
South Africa to take up the position of Prior in a
religious community for men in Zululand.
He has recently successfully completed his B.Th. Honours
degree with UNISA in Systematic Theology and now offers
teaching in this area. He hopes that his time at the
College will contribute to providing a high standard
of academic, spiritual, emotional, psychological and
social formation at the College. |

Monde Prince has recently (February
2010) joined the catering section of the Estates Division
as a chef. Early indications are that we are very lucky
to have him on our team and the students and staff who
use the College dining room have already found occasions
to compliment him on his contributions to their welfare.
Monde is an imposing figure and the College´s sport
representatives are keen to recruit him for one or other
of the teams where he will, they believe, more than adequately
intimidate the opposition. |
|
| |
Ndodomzi Losi has joined
the maintenance section of the Estates Division (March
2010) as a gardener and general maintenance officer. He
is no stranger to the College, having previously worked
for a year as a casual gardener under the College's gardening
consultant, Mrs Shona Domeris.
Because of this, the gardens
are already showing signs of improvementand drawing favourable
comments by visitors . |
|
| |
Fundiswa Tyala has
joined the catering section of the Estates Division (March
2010) as a cook, subsequent to the retirement of Elizabeth
Sandi. Fundiswa previously worked in some of Grahamstown´s
top restaurants (La Galleria and the Yellow Piano) and
as a contract caterer at one of the local private schools.
While she did not have to prepare too much samp and beans
before (a student favourite) she is already making her
influence felt in the kitchen and dining room. |
